Treatment Options for Missing Teeth

Posted on 1/24/2022 by Front Desk
Treatment Options for Missing TeethMissing teeth can alter a lot. From impeding our speech, to affecting how we eat or chew, down to the appearance of our smile, it is no wonder people always look for ways to deal with their missing teeth. If ignored, they can have serious negative effects on our dental health, and even result in bone loss. Thankfully, there are treatment options that not only restore our teeth, but also help prevent those negative effects. Here are some treatment options for missing teeth.

Dental Implants

These are small tiny titanium posts that act as tooth roots. Our professionals surgically place them into the jawbone just like a natural tooth root, and they stimulate bone regeneration. The jawbone grows and fuses around them securing them into place. Once the gums heal, we place an abutment on the implant, and that receives the crown that acts as your tooth. Dental implants are very practical as they provide a permanent solution for tooth replacement. After all parts come together, they feel so much like your natural teeth that you may forget that they are artificial.

Dental Bridges

Dental bridges are great for replacing missing teeth that are in the same area. Dental bridges usually require patients to have healthy natural teeth right by the missing tooth space, as these would serve as posts to hold the dental bridge in place. Dental bridges could also be implant supported. This way, the bridges sit on two implant posts for secure support.

Dentures

For patients who may have lost an entire row of teeth, dentures are a great option for them. Complete dentures replace a whole row of teeth, while partial dentures replace a few teeth in the same place. Usually, dentures are removable, but patients could also have them supported with implants for fixed stability.

All these options sound amazing, but picking the right one for yourself would require some qualified advice. Our professionals are always ready to examine you and discuss the most suitable replacement option for you. Schedule a consultation with us today.
