What is Dental Cone Beam CT?

Posted on 7/10/2023 by Front Desk
What is Dental Cone Beam CT?When standard dental or facial x-rays are inadequate, a dental fluoroscopy radiograph is employed. It is rarely utilized since the radiation dose from this sensor is much higher than that of standard dental x-rays. More information about x-rays may be obtained on the Failsafe page. This kind of CT scanner uses specialist technology to provide four-dimensional images of surrounding bone, tendons and ligaments, nerve routes, and bone in the maxillofacial area in a single transaction. Cone beam CT scans allow for more targeted treatment management.

How does the procedure work? Stereotactic CT is not the same as traditional CT. Dental stereotactic CT, on the other hand, can produce images equivalent to those produced by conventional Computed tomography.

The x-ray emitter and sensor are located on opposing sides of the moving around and rotate in tandem. Depending on the cone beam scanner utilized, you will be requested to sit in the diagnostic chair or recline on the hospital floor. Our dentist or orthodontist will place you in the laser pulse so that the subject of attention is in the center. You will be instructed to hold your air as the x-ray emitter and monitor rotate in a 360-degree circle or smaller. Probably seek medical advice or contacting us right away for additional information about Tooth Cone lights.

What are the advantages?

The directed x-ray beam decreases scatter radiation, which improves picture quality. One scan generates many opinions and elevations that may be adjusted to offer a more comprehensive assessment.

Cone post CT scans share more details than traditional dental x-rays, enabling many clear patient management. CT skimming is not invasive, painless, and precise. The capacity of CT to scan both tissue or freebie anatomy simultaneously is a significant benefit. Schedule a consultative appointment with us for more information on dental cone beam.
